A review of the Top 5 Banks in Abuja by Customer Experience

 Nigeria-banks
One thing is almost certain if you work or reside in Abuja at one time or the other you’ll have to use the banks for whatever transactions you may have in mind. Customers to many banks have had regrets and complaints sometimes customers are treated shabbily by staff who in some cases even insult them. But these 5 are at least above par when it comes to providing that excellent customer experience so needed by the banking public.

GT Bank – Prompt handling of customer complaints
When you walk into any GT Bank branch, you’re likely to find the environment appealing as the design of the exterior and the banking hall itself is always posh. The staff is always made up of young professionals who show respect and courtesy for customers most times. Their process is smooth and efficient plus customer complaints are promptly and well attended to. Of all banks operating in Abuja, GT Bank stands out as the best for customer service. No wonder they won the maiden edition of the Nigerian customer service awards in the Banking Category.

Zenith Bank – Fast and efficient services
Although it would appear that this bank is for the higher class rather than the average man, Zenith Bank does have a few lapses here and there but not too serious to be considered horrible. The main attraction to this bank would be their typically large banking halls and parking space for customers depending though on location. The banking public in Abuja (based on our survey) doesn’t usually have much to complain about when it comes to the services of Zenith Bank especially in terms of responding to customer complaints and enquiries.
Area of Strengths: Quick banking operations and efficient customer service
Down Sides: Expensive services

Skye Bank
This is one of those not so often heard or seen banks in Abuja because they have relatively fewer branches than many banks but they do have high patronage from the banking public. Perhaps this is due to their
Area of Strengths: Courteous Staff and Prompt response to customer complaints
Downsides: Problems with accessing cash with their ATM locations

First Bank
The oldest bank in Nigeria is fast taking up a new more 21st century compliant look than some of the older generation banks. Although still not up to par with standard customer friendly banks globally you can count on first bank to deliver at least by Nigerian standards a fairly reasonable service to clients who use their services. One good thing about them is how very often their ATM’s are always up and running in most of their branches within Abuja – 24 hours a day – and the fact that they’ve upgraded their workers skill set making them more professional and service driven.
Strength: Affordable and efficient services
Downside: crowded banking halls

Stanbic IBTC
Stanbic IBTC brings with it an uncompromising need to satisfy their customer by whatever means available. This is one unique bank that ensures that feedback from customers is taking seriously. They too like Zenith Bank it’s a bit elitist but service isn’t compromised at least at most of their branches.
Strength: Professional and courteous staff

Downside: Insufficient parking space at most of their branches
